Research Interests

There are various mechanisms for insects to adapt to varying environments, along with many different phenotypes at the population level. Insects are ideal materials for adaptive evolution research. We are interested in revealing the mechanism of Bayesian mimicry in the adaptive evolution of insects

Current research projects

Elymnias hypermnestra is a sexually dimorphic Batesian mimic of several model species. We will de novo sequence and assemble the reference genome. We will collect and sequence Elymnias hypermnestra of different geographical populations. Based on genotype–phenotype correlation analysis, gene expression analysis, population genomic study and gene editing system, we plan to identify mimicry related genes and detect the genetic structures for all sampling populations. The results will also provide theoretical basis for adaptive evolution.
